Who are product marketing managers (PMMs)?

As a former product marketer, I'd say we're (PMMs) the only ones who really know the product, the customer, and the competitors! The only other person with info close to this is the CEO. Outside of the CEO, we're the ones who can bridge the gap between product development and market success (meaning revenue not optics) because we understand all three areas- kinda like a quarterback!

So, what is QBack solving for PMMs?

We talked to over 150 product marketing leaders, and what we learned is the most important part to make any launch a success (meaning revenue not optics) is doing a deep “buyer + competitor analysis”, coupled by all the assets and intelligence to enable the sales team.

This is where QBack will create a wedge in the market, by combining all these workflows in one product. And, we are ready to die fighting to solve this problem! - Solving this is what excites us and gives us the high!

QBack is going to use LLMs to consolidate the workflows of analysis + creation + enablement in one place. This is what we are building at QBack - a quarterback personalized for each deal, launch, and persona.

The backstory

Saurav, and I (Harshit) both have backgrounds in the SaaS industry, and I’ve been in product marketing roles since 2017. In 2023, we were both on the lookout for the next BIG problem to solve using LLMs.

One day, while brainstorming, I vented out to Saurav about how there are NO tools exclusively built for product marketers despite how critical the role is, especially in high-performing companies. That’s when we had our eureka moment to build QBack. I told Saurav what my ex-boss (thank you, Hila Segal) always used to ask, "Who is quarterbacking the launch?" to which Saurav immediately said let's name it Quarterback, and that's our inspo behind QBack.
